Like the Real World Based on Real Crime
Posted on
I like the Australian cars, telephones, etc of the past. Well presented and lots of hard work put in. Action packed. Based on true stories and at the end the movie afterwards there is a announcement of what charges have been laid or if they get imprisonment etc .It is interesting and Highly Recommend. -

Best Ever Cop Show
Posted on
Matlock Police has always been my favourite cop tv series since I was a teenager and when Matlock was filmed in the 70's. Never a cop series has bettered it. In watching it now on DVD, it reminds of the cars on the road we rarely see now.

VOLUME 3 OF MATLOCK KEEPS THE BALL ROLLING.
Posted on
Here we go again with another Instalment from the popular
MATLOCK POLICE series.
The outings in Volume 3 are impressive, however my 3 favourite episodes would have to be 'The Cowhand', 'Violent Thursday'
and 'Blow-ups Happen'.
The last episode being particularly well written by David Boutland.
The XR Falcon seen racing through the Streets, is a great Car even by todays standards.
I enjoyed the Incidental Music heard in this episode.
'Violent Thursday' is another firm favourite featuring the Tony Angelini character.
Luigi Villani was a greatly under used Actor with bugger all Tv experience, however after doing odd Jobs for Crawfords, he graduated to parts requiring speech.
The Tony Angelini character is a Gem, he tries very hard to get people to like him, fancies himself as a third Detective alongside Maddern and Curtis and never gets the Girl !.
Luigi later turned up as the same Character in the RYAN tv series,
still trying too hard and looking like a lost Puppy most of the time.
Charging only $7.00 for a Tune-up, Tony's the best mate a man could have.
I also like the locations where Matlock was filmed, there's the
'Olinda Hotel' in 'Violent Thursday' and a very long stretch of Road
can be seen somewhere in Lilydale during the same episode.
The new VH Valiant Police vehicles can be seen along with the updated and improved opening Credits.
There are 2 'bloopers' in 'Violent Thursday', however $10.00 says
no-one can spot them.
Matlock is starting to look more slicker and polished than the roughness of the early episodes.
There also seems to be a stable of Actors that are reused in all the Crawford Cop shows.
People who could be relied upon to give good performances.
Matlock Police remains my favourite Cop show and I look forward to purchasing Volume 4 when it's eventually released.

The best police series
Posted on
First started watching Matlock Police back in 2010 on WIN Channel. Was a night time episode so DVD recorded it at 2:30am Tuesday mornings. Was further into the serious when started watching it, was colour TV then. Discovered Paul Cronin in it and said I know that face from somewhere, the Sullivans. The series was on longer viewed in 2011,.although had retained a lot of the episodes. Then discovered it came on to DVD when had received a newsletter. So have stuck to watching the series of police drama.

Great family viewing

Only recall the colour series of Matlock and not the earlier series.. All i can say is this is the most brilliant police series ever created. The hidden social commentary touches on every subject you can image. Great acting, great scripts, great characters. Australia as it was. A great look into how we once were.
