These box sets are a reminder that Hector Crawford and Co gave birth to Australian television drama. Other series followed, however Homicide spearheaded the popularity of Australian drama and remained the flagship of the Crawford stable until it ceased production in 1975.

The quality of these early Homicide series still impresses. Shot in grainy black and white, and overlaid with edgy sound tracks, all these years later they seem to have a distinct film noir feel to them.

The DVD release is an important addition to Australian television history, a must have for buffs and fans alike.
