The tension mounts as the Carson playboy Tommy, has cast off his family loyalties, and joined the Underworld. Rubbing shoulders with crime figures Squizzy Taylor and Hammer Wallace, Tommy mocks his former legal fraternity, while threatening to cripple the Carson & Carson partnership. Everyone faces challenges in this series - Jennifer endures temporary blindness (which doesn't stop her tearing strips off criminals in the courtroom), while loyal Gerard does time in jail for the crime of protecting his employer. A warming, somewhat amusing side show to all the tension comes in the form of a superficial affair between the normally staid Robert and the new trendy Office secretary Julia - whoever saw that coming?
